The 1st joint PPS-STC and POGS-STC was held last June 28,2009,Sunday at the INTERMED's Paragon Building in Alabang,MM . Our OB-Gyne partners are very prompt in attendance such that most of the pediatricians were seated at the back.

Palms Country Club witnessed another set of new PPS-STC members as they were inducted after the scientific meeting on "New Horizons in Gastroenterology:Enhancing GI Tolerance of Nutrients for Optimum Health Effects" by our favorite peds gastro-Dr. Fil Gatcheco.

PPS-STC is on its 6th year holding annual recollection held every lenten season .For this year we have it at Field of Faith in Calauan,Laguna coordinated by Dr. Lea Umil. This is our chapter's activity thanking our Lord for the year that has been prior to every PPS Annual Convention . For the 2nd time, Fr. Jerry Juarez was our recollection priest (thanks to Dr. May Abad )and he never failed to re-affirm our faith through his inspiring and humorous talk as if we are not in a contemplative mood.

Last March 22,2009 at Bellevue Hotel, newer therapeutic agents on the control/long term management of allergic rhinitis and asthma in children were discussed by two great speakers-Dr. Alexander O.Tuazon who emphasized that anti -leukotrienes are good alternatives for steroids while Dr. Julia de Leon explained the pathway how this anti-leukotrienes work .

This was a well attended scientific meeting with a total of 160 MDs of which 90 are PPS-STC members. Dr. Devino Garcia a PPS-STC pulmonologist was very spontaneous as the moderator during the brief question and answer portion.

The feeding program for the selected Landayan kids in San Pedro had their graduation last March 1,2009 with no less than Dra. Rowena Pua as the guest of honor. This feeding program has been ongoing for the past 6 months using VitaMeal complemented with multivitamins in cooperation with the MOB Foundation ,San Pedro Lions Club and CPSP-STC .

A book reading on "May bukbok ang ipin ni Ani" was done by Dr. Tina Alberto alongside with a product presentation of Oral Health products by Pediapharma was held last February 24,2009 at Barangay Mambog 2,Bacoor,Cavite. Also, Dr. Rey Lapak gave a Lay Fora on "Rayumang Lagnat " being also a heart month.

Same book reading activity was done by Dr.Lapak last February 15,2009 at Landayan,San Pedro,Laguna in tandem with a Medical Mission in cooperation with the CPSP-STC and MOB Foundation. Dr. Millette Coronado was ever-present in every medical mission.Kudos!!!

Congratulations and Thanks to the "San Pablo Pediatric Circle " for being a wonderful host of the 29th PPS-STC Anniversary celebration with 1st PPS-STC Pediatric Forum : "Critical Care Issues for the General Pediatricians" as the major event.This was held at Ma.Paz Royal Garden Resort at Sta. Filomena,San Pablo City for the whole day of February 22,2009.

The beautiful and youthful San Pablo Pediatricians were all in violet blouses with matching violet sandals and white pants led by Dr. Lyda Largoza(the over-all chair) . Every member of the commitee did a job well done.
